We all know about the Kentucky Wildcats and their 31-0 perfect regular season record. The Wildcats beat Florida at Rupp Arena in the season finale 67-50 on March 7th. Kentucky is the 2015 favorite to cut down the nets just north of Lexington at Lucas Oil Filed Stadium in Indianapolis.
This Sports Handicapper believes there are four teams that will surprise in the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Two of the teams are from the Big East Conference. First there is the St.Johns Red Storm, who has the athleticism at every position on the floor.
The Red Strom lost badly in the season finale at Villanova. With a 21-10 overall record and (10-8) in Conference play, they are by all accounts NCAATournament bound. A strong showing at Madison Square Garden in the annual Big East Tournament would also help their resume’. Head Coach Steve Lavin is bringing back a winning culture to College Basketball fans in the “BIG APPLE”. Speaking of Villanova, they are a senior-laden team with mental toughness.
Many experts believe Villanova can give Kentucky a run for their money on 2015 NCAA Basketball March Madness Tournament Betting Predictions. The Villanova Wildcat have perimeter shooting and are strong in the post.
Villanova Head Coach Jay Wright was the 2005–06 National Coach of the year and this season’s team is his best. Villanova, unlike St.Johns play’s a half-court style, focusing on getting good shots. The Red Storm like to push the ball but Vilanova can also play with tempo.
The Wildcats put up 105-points against the Red Storm in the season finale.
The third team took a hit Saturday and are on the bubble but should get in the field of sixty-four. The Indiana Hoosiers has a fan base that will travel well and buy tickets to any site. Indiana lost their season finale at home to Michigan State. The Hoosiers are 19-12 overall and 9-9 in Conference play. Head Coach Tom Crean will be a tough out because he has a great scoring team and a great Point Guard. Indiana will be a matchup nightmare because they can score the basketball from anywhere on the floor.
Freshman James Blackmon is a player to watch in the NCAA Tournament if he gets hot watch out.
The fourth team is the Michigan State Spartans. Head Coach Tom Izzo has two seniors and a Junior who can play at the next level. The Big three of Denzel Valentine, Braden Dawson and Travis Trice can compete at any level.
The great ‘Billy Packer’ once said, to win the NCAA Tournament you must have three NBA-caliber players on your squad. Izzo’s Spartans lost to eventual Champions Connecticut last season; Trice is the key.
Bovada.Lv has St.Johns at +30,000 to win the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Villanova at +1,600. Indiana at +20,000 and Michigan State at +6,600.
