The Butler Bulldogs are on the rise again in the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. Butler was left out of the 2014 NCAA Tournament but “THEY ARE BACK”. The Mid-Major program located in the heart of Indianapolis is set to take on the mighty Notre Dame Fighting Irish on March 21st in 3rd round action. Butler and every other school in the basketball-crazed Hoosier State takes a back seat to Notre Dame and Indiana University. Three hours separate the two fine institutions. Butler will face their big brothers in the Northwest section of the Hoosier State. The game is at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tip-off is at 9:40 PM EST.
This Sports Handicapper believes the Butler Bulldogs are having another outstanding season. Many College Basketball experts thought the Bulldogs would be in the NIT instead of the “BIG DANCE”. Butler got past Texas in the second round on Thursday 56-48 in a low scoring affair. Junior Guard Kellen Dunham scored a team-high twenty points in the victory. Swingman Roosevelt Jones, who is their best player, contributed six. Jones is battling a sore knee but is probably going to play Saturday, and the Bulldogs need his presence on the floor. Nobody in the Butler circles expects Head Coach Brandon Miller to do what his predecessor Brad Stevens did, taking the program to two consecutive Final Four appearances. Miller is building his brand in “NAP TOWN”. Butler is friendly to ATS bettors who like the under the total; the betting odds under the total are 808 their last eight. The Butler Bulldogs are a five-point underdog on March Madness Betting Picks vs. Notre Dame Saturday.
Norte Dame beat Northeastern 69-65 in round two March Madness action on Thursday. Notre Dame looked a little sluggish in the early 12:00 PM EST start. The second Half was different as Notre Dame got the ball in the post. Junior Forward Zach Auguste scored a game-high twenty-five points in the win. Auguste dominated in the paint. Senior Guard Jerian Grant scored seventeen. Fighting Irish Coach Mike Brey knows what this game means, recruits have taken notice of both programs. The Irish has to set the tone early and play an uptempo contest. Butler wants to be patient running their offensive sets. Point Guard Demetrius Jackson must dictate the flow of the game. Sharp-shooting Pat Connaughton is the “X-FACTOR”. Bovada.Lv has Notre Dame at 25/1 to win the 2015 NCAA Basketball Championship.
