Written and authored by Major League Baseball Expert Analyst Charlie McDougall. Charliessports.com produces it for Baseball news and notes. just like the Houston Astros in the American League. The New York Mets are the surprise team in the National League. The Mets got off to their best start since the 1988 World Series that won it all. At one point in April, the Mets reeled off ten straight win but have since cooled off. As expected the 2015 St.Louis Cardinals is playing great baseball and is in first place in the National League Central. St.Louis has the best record in baseball through May 5th, 2015. The Los Angels Dodgers are on top in the NL West and have some injuries, the Dodgers are only going to get better. The 2014 World Series Champions San Francisco Giants are off to a rough start to the season, don’t expect too much from the team in the “BAY AREA”. The Giants have won the World Series every other season since 2010, look for them next season.

The National League West seems to be the most competitive Division in 2015. The Los Angeles Dodgers are 13-2 at Dodgers Stadium, but 3-7 on the road. First Baseman Adrian Gonzalez is solid at the plate for the Dodgers and as a team they are hitting .260. Pitcher Clayton Kershaw is the reigning Cy Young award winner. The Dodgers pitching staff is holding the opposition to a .233 batting average. The San Diego Padres are second in the Division and 7/1 to win the 2015 MLB Picks National League Crown. San Francisco is third, 3 and a half games out of the division lead. The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks are playing average baseball. Colorado is 4 and a half games out of first place, and Arizona is five games from the top spot. The 2015 National League West could easily be one of the most competitive in all of baseball.

The National League East Division has the odds on favorite to win the World Series by many Experts. The 2015 Washington Nationals are 13-14 and three and a half games behind the division-leading New York Mets. The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins are in a tie for third place in the NL East. Atlanta always seems to be in the playoff hunt, but Las Vegas has them as 50/1 to represent the National League in the 2015 World Series. The Miami Marlins won seven of eight on a recent homestand to get back in the thick of things. The Philadelphia Phillies were on top in the NL East for many years, but their run over for now. The Phillies are in last place with a 10-17 record and are six and a half out of first place. Baseball Experts has Philadelphia at 500/1 to win the 2015 National League Pennant.

The National League Central Division seems like it’s dominated by the St.Louis Cardinals season after season. The 2015 version is no different. Pittsburgh and the Chicago Cubs are supposed to keep things interesting in the NL Central. The Cubs are second with a 13-11 record, the Cubs have a winning road record. The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to San Francisco in the Wildcard game of the 2014 Playoffs. All Star Center Fielder Andrew McCutchen is off to a bad start at the plate. The Florida native is being touted as one of the best all-around players in Major League Baseball. McCutchen has a .193 batting average, but he will get it together. Team chemistry is a problem with former catcher Russell Martin now in Toronto. The Cincinnati Reds could pose a threat, especially with Joey Vottoregaining his form in the batters box. The Milwaukee Brewers are in last place as expected and have the worst record in the National League.
