The Vandals lone win was a 29-17 home victory over Conference foe New Mexico State. Idaho could have won two contests, but Georgia State was of the schedule and again in 2015. Head Coach Paul Petrino is 2-21 in his two seasons at the Moscow, Idaho Institute. Petrino is optimistic about the 2015 Vandals football team. Fifteen starters return, eight on a good offense and seven on defense. The program last saw the postseason in 2009 in the Humanitarian Bowl. The Vandals have six home games this season. Experience at quarterback and an excellent wideout will keep the Vandals out of the cellar in the Sun Belt. The team plays in the 16,000 seat, Kibble Dome.
The 2015 Idaho Vandals will rely on their quarterback, Matt Linehan. The son of former NFL Head Coach and current Dallas Cowboys assistant Scott Linehan. The redshirt Sophomore must cut down on interceptions this season, he threw 18 in 2014. The Quarterback threw for 2.540 yards in 2014. Linehan will not have Josh McCain, who led the Conference in catches last season. The Good news is Dezmon Epps is back after missing last season for violating team rules. Running Back Elijah Penny is back after gaining nearly 600 yards rushing last season. Tight End Deon Watson a converted receiver is also a valuable option. The offensive line will return four starters but lost a center who started every game in his college career. The Idaho Vandals went 5-5-1 on NCAA Football ATS Predictions last season, going over the betting odds total six times, staying under the betting odds total four with a push.

The Vandals defense lost three coaches from the staff, including the coordinator. Mike Breske comes in from Washington State to run the defense. The Front seven returns four starters. Defensive End Quinton Bradley has next level potential. Linebacker Marc Millan has a team-high 102 tackles last season returns. Three starters return in the secondary led by cornerback Jay Shawn Jordan.
