It’s never too early evaluate which players will impact the NCAA Football landscape. The Football Experts at Charliessports take a look at the field for the upcoming season. The Ohio State Buckeyes caught fire down the stretch last year and won the inaugural BCS playoffs. Head Coach Urban Meyer and Athletic Director Gene Smith celebrated at AT&T Stadium. Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot was virtually an unknown but led the team to the promise land. Let’s not forget what Buckeyes signal-caller Cordale Jones did as a third-team quarterback. The 2015-16 season promises to be just as exciting.
(1)*Lets start with the most talented player in College Football. Ole Miss Wide Receiver LaQuon Treadwell, the Illinois native has everything you want in a big play wideout. The physical imposing junior is coming back from an ankle injury against Auburn, a freak play that would have given the Rebels a home victory. Treadwell is in the discussion of being the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. He will excel despite the loss of quarterback Bo Wallace.
(2)*Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. St. Thomas Aquinas High school is a football factory. The latest great College Football player from the powerhouse is Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa. The Junior comes from great blood lines. His father John was the number-one draft choice of the Dolphins in the 1980’s and uncle Eric Kumerow was also a first rounder in the Don Shula era in South Florida. Bosa will be a great fit on any NFL roster. Bosa will miss the first game of the season for violating team rules. Every team in the National Football League is aware of his talent.
(3)*Another Ole Miss Rebel makes the cut at number three. Defensive Tackle Robert Nkemdiche came of Oxford in the same class as Treadwell, and this will be his coming out season. At 6’5″ and a “CHEESEBURGER AWAY” from 300 pounds, Nkemdiche is dominant on the interior with his size and quickness of off the ball. .
(4)*Florida Gators cornerback Vernon Hargreaves, III can do it all at a position where only a few can play. The junior is the best and could have been a first-round NFL draft picks last season. The kid has awesome ball and cover skills; he will also come up and be physical in run support.
(5)*UCLA Junior Myles Jack comes in at number five. Jack was one of the most talked about freshman defensive player ever a few years ago. He also got plenty of carries in the Bruins backfield on offense. The native of the State of Washington is ready to reclaim his status as the premier College Football player in America this season. The UCLA coaching staff have moved his back to the inside linebacker position, where he can be disruptive.
(6)*How can you rank players without adding an offensive lineman. Michigan State Center Jack Allen has been a dominant force in the Big Ten the past few seasons. This year the senior will be favored to win the Rimington Trophy as the best center in College Football. The Michigan State coaching staff believes quarterback Connor Cook owes a lot of his success to Allen.
(7)*Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer lets his offensive lineman eat first in pre-game meals. He did the same thing at the University of Florida and everywhere else he has coached. Buckeyes Guard Pat Elflein is the best in the business, and the Columbus native will dominate again this season. Elflein has everything you want in an offensive lineman; he’s big, strong and has a nasty streak.(8)*Any Three of the Ohio State Buckeyes quarterbacks. Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett or Braxton Miller. The faithful in Columbus can’t wait to see all three on the field at the same time, and it will happen. Miller has more playing experience the Jones and Barrett put together. Jones took the Buckeyes to the promise land as a virtual unknown. The Cleveland native was open minded enough to return to campus at the suggestion of Meyer. It was a good decision for personal growth in an era of instant gratification. Barrett is the only one of the three not from Ohio, but he will see plenty of action.
(9)*TCU Quarterback Trevone Boykin fit’s the new TCU system like a glove. The Mesquite, Texas native had a rough start two years ago but turned heads as he became familiar with the offense in 2014. Boykin is the favorite to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy. He has been the talk of College Football in the offseason. Can he live up to the hype?
(10)*Vernon Adams Jr. The Oregon Ducks will have the former Eastern Washington University quarterback under center. Fans in Eugene can’t wait to see what the Darren Thomas clone can do as the starting signal caller. Admas faces his old school EWU in the season opener. Adams should be fine in that game, but how will he fare in week two in East Lansing, Michigan against the Spartans.
