The Michigan State Spartans are the number-five ranked team in the nation in the preseason polls. Michigan State is still taking a back seat to the University of Michigan. Western Michigan is another team in the Mid-American Conference from the state hosting a power conference school in the opening weekend. Central Michigan entertains Oklahoma State on September 3rd. Although there are expectations for the upcoming season, reality say’s the coaching staff will have to keep the team motivated. The Western Michigan Broncos has never beaten a ranked football team. A home upset at the 30,000 on-campus venue would send the fans into a frenzy.
