The (0-0) Kansas City Chiefs of the AFC West Division will make the trip to “SPACE CITY” for their 2015 season opener. Kansas City will take on the (0-0) Houston Texans of the AFC South Division in NFL action. The game will be at the beautiful “NRG STADIUM” in Houston, Texas. The Kansas City Chiefs missed out on the 2014 playoffs after making the postseason in Andy Reid initial season on the sideline. The Chiefs have the talent to push Denver and San Diego. The Houston Texans are rebuilding and head coach Bil O’Brien will not settle for anything less than 100% effort from his team in 2015. The opening betting line has Houston as a one-point home Favorite Against The Spread. The betting odds total is 40′-points for Sunday’s game.

The 2015 Kansas City Chiefs recently traded a defensive back to Seattle for a future draft pick. Kansas City has the luxury of having a very deep secondary. The team is relatively healthy going into the 2015 regular season. Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dontari Poe, who missed most the training camp returns in time for the opener. Former first overall draft choice Eric Fisher is also ready after missing the majority of the preseason, with a bad ankle sprain. Fisher will get the start at right tackle instead of the left side. Wide receiver/returner De’Anthony Thomas will be the team’s primary return man on special teams this season. The coaching staff believes the former Oregon star is ready to make his mark in the league. Kansas City is coming off of a 4-0 preseason record and ready for the trip to South Texas. Starting quarterback Alex Smith is ready to hand the football to Jamaal Charles and new wideout Jeremy Maclin will extend opposing defenses. Speaking of defense, the organization is excited about the return of safety Eric Berry and Linebacker Derrick Johnson. Both missed the entire 2014 season with various ailments.

The Houston Texans received good news this week, running back Arian Foster groin injury is healing better than expected. The former Tennessee standout will be back within the first month of the 2015 season. The Texans sorely miss Foster, Alfred Blue, and Chris Polk will play in the place of Foster. Both have the ability to get the job done. The coaching staff saw Polk gash the Texans defense as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. OBrien is especially impressed with the former Washington Huskies standout. Quarterback Brian Hoyer was named the starter a couple of weeks ago. The Texans bolstered their offensive line by trading for tackle Chris Clark. With the departure of Andre Johnson, third-year wideout DeAndre Hopkins is the main weapon in the passing game. The former Clemson Tigers standout is embracing his new status as a leader. The Texans defense will be the strength of the team. The front seven has the ability to be one of the best in the NFL. The addition of Vince Wilfork give them instant credibility against the run. Defensive end J.J. Watt is still one of the best in the game. Linebacker Brian Cushing is back healthy after a few injury filled season’s.
