The (1-1) Georgia State Panthers of the Sun Belt Conference will make the trip across country to the “GREAT NORTHWEST” to get a big payday. Georgia State will take on the (1-1) Oregon Ducks of the PAC-Twelve North Division in College Football action. The game will be at Autzen Stadium on campus in Eugene, Oregon. Kickoff time is at 2:00 PM EST. The Best Sports Handicapper believes this will be a great learning experience for the young Georgia State Football program. The team and administration will learn from playing one of the most progressive teams in the land. The Oregon Ducks will bounce back easily from a road loss at Michigan State last Saturday. The game will be lopsided from start to finish. The opening betting line has Georgia State as a forty-five and a half-point Road Underdog Against The Spread. The betting odds total is 72-points for Saturday’s game.
The 2015 Georgia State Panthers bounced back from their home opening loss to Charlotte on September 4th by getting a 34-32 road victory at New Mexico State. Saturday’s win at NMSU was the program’s first Sun Belt victory in the short history. Starting quarterback, Nick Arbuckle threw for 372 yards and two touchdowns last week. The going will be tougher at Oregon, but the Panthers could catch the Oregon defense off guard. Georgia State head coach Trent Miles want his team to get on the plane with the mindset of winning a football game. The contest marks the second consecutive season the Panthers are playing a PAC-Twelve team. Georgia State lost to Washington 45-14 at Washington in 2014, but Washington is not the Oregon Ducks. Georgia State can move the football in different way’s offensively. The contest could be closer than expert predict as Oregon is still smarting from last Saturday’s nationally televised loss at Michigan State. Miles and his staff understands the scenario and will have his team prepared. The Panthers should be 2-0 but lost their opener at home to Charlotte. The key to a Georgia State cover is to match the Oregon offense scoring the football.
Oregon Ducks starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. knows what is is to be David vs. Goliath. The fifth-year senior played the role as a member of the Eastern Washington football team. The transfer played well in the loss at Michigan State and almost brought his team back for the win. Adams threw for 309 yards with a touchdown but threw two interceptions. Head Coach Mark Helfrich believes Adams will bounce back, the kid has only been on campus for a little over a month. The coaching staff wants the team to fine tune their techniques as they prepare to go into PAC-Twelve action. Helfrich is optimistic his team will be ready Saturday and going forward. Players held their head up after the road loss to Michigan State. Oregon is still in the hunt for the BCS Playoffs but must win out the rest of the way. More plays will be implemented for Adams this week and Helfrich expects his to master the playbook very soon. Oregon will also speed up their tempo, something that was lacking Saturday.
