The 2015 Houston Texans looked pathetic in the first half of their 27-20 home loss against the Kansas City Chiefes. Head Coach Bill O’Brien has already made a quarterback change. Ryan Mallet takes over for the inefficient Brian Hoyer. O’Brien is unsure about the situation; you could tell on ESPN “HARD KNOCKS.” The show featured the Houston Texans and owner Bob McNair knows he must make a move to get a franchise type signal-caller. Defensive Coordinator Romeo Crennel is regarded as one of the best in the business. However, the Texans defense looked lost last Sunday. Kansas City Tight End Travis Kelce ran freely on numerous occasions and caught a pair of touchdown passes from Alex Smith. Crennel and the staff must make adjustments against Cam Newton and the Carolina offense. Offensively the Texans must establish a running game. Alfred Blue tallied 42-yards on nine carries, he’s filling in for the Arian Foster. The real issue for Houston is at the quarterback position, and Mallet is getting his chance. O’Brien is familiar with the duo from his day’s in New England, but they are average quarterbacks at best. The key to a Houston victory is to establish a running game and the defense must know their assignments.

The Carolina Panthers traveled to Jacksonville and got a win last Sunday. Head Coach Ron Rivera was impressed with the effort of his defense. The unit sacked Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles five times. Linebacker Luke Kuechly left the contest in the first half with a concussion, and his status is uncertain for Sunday. Carolina has not missed a beat since losing pass rusher Greg Hardy over the past few season. Thomas Davis is also one of the best linebackers in the NFL. There is not much expected from the Carolina offense in the 2015 season. Starting quarterback Cam Newton threw for 175 yards with a touchdown and an interception last Sunday. The Panthers offense is trying to find a wide receiver who will step up in place of Kelvin Benjamin (out for the season with a knee injury). Veterans Jerricho Cotchery and Tedd Ginn Jr. must step up and become primary targets in the passing game. The key to a Carolina win is to play aggressive defense and create running lanes for Jonathan Stewart.

Houston is 3-0-1 ATS their last four Football games on the road.

The betting odds under the total are 5-1 Carolina last six at home.
