Western Kentucky plays the (0-5) North Texas Mean Green of the C-USA West. The game is at Apogee Stadium on campus in Denton, Texas. Kickoff time is at 7:30 PM EST on the CBSC Television Network. The game is on Thursday, October, 15th 2015. The Best Sports Handicapper believes Western Kentucky is the best team in both divisions of Conference USA. The Hilltoppers offense can score points on any team in the nation. The North Texas Football programs have taken a few steps back in the 2015 season. North Texas fired head coach Dan McCarney after a bad home loss to FCS Portland State on October 10th. The senior signal caller is improving his NFL draft status each week. Preseason All-Conference running back Leon Allen is out for the season after knee surgery and is getting healthy for the draft. Western Kentucky has reeled off three straight wins after a 38-35 road loss to Indiana of the Big Ten in September. WKU Head Coach Jeff Brohm knows his team is one of the best in the Conference but doesn’t want them to lose focus. The consensus is Western Kentucky is looking forward to the last game of the season matchup with Marshall which will probably determine the East Champion. Western Kentucky will become bowl eligible for the second consecutive season with a win Thursday. The coaching staff warns the Hilltoppers about North Texas new found enthusiasm after the recent coaching change. Most of North Texas players are from the “METROPLEX” which has some of the best high school talent in the country. Brohm warned his team about a letdown. North Texas has talent and with the right circumstances they can pull off the upset. The key to a WKU win is to play with intensity of both sides of the football.

The North Texas Mean Green and Thursday’s opponent have each played Rice. WKU crushed the Owls while North Texas lost to Rice 38-24. The North Texas football program has plenty of potential with fertile recruiting grounds. The problem is there are so many high profile programs in the same area competing for some of the same players. The athletic department must get in the mix and find way’s to attract players to Denton, Texas. Athletic Director Rick Villarreal is conducting a national search going forward and has plans to make NTSU into a “POWERHOUSE”. There were expectations this season after the Mean Green played in the 2013-14 Heart of Dallas Bowl, a victory against UNLV. The teams is winless in 2015, but the team is rejuvenated after the dismissal of McCarney. The key to a North Texas win is to play inspired football and compete each and every whistle.
