Clemson closes out the season at rival South Carolina Thanksgiving weekend, and The Gamecocks are down this season. The only team standing in the way of a BCS playoff appearance is a possible ACC Championship game against North Carolina.
The Alabama Crimson Tide rolled over a decent Mississippi State team on the road on November 14th. Alabama still has to face Auburn on the road in the annual “IRON BOWL” on the 28th of this month. Alabama is in the driver’s seat in the SEC-West Division and will probably face an underrated Florida football team in the SEC Title game. Florida has already clinched the Southeastern Conference East Division. The Gators are looking forwards to playing the role of spoilers, and they have the talent to compete against the Crimson Tide. The Baylor Bears lost at home to Oklahoma, and the Bears are just about done as far as their BCS playoff chances. The Big Twelve title will go through the Oklahoma State Cowboys who got past Iowa State last Saturday. Oklahoma State trailed by double digits for most of the contest, before scoring a late touchdown to get the victory. Oklahoma closes out the regular season at home against Baylor next Saturday and then it’s the annual “BEDLAM RIVALRY” with the Oklahoma Sooners invading Boone T Pickens Stadium. Oklahoma has thrown their hat into the BCS Playoff conversation. The Sooners host TCU on November 21st.
The PAC-Twelve Conference was the big losers this past weekend with Stanford losing to Oregon at home. The loss just about did it for the PAC-Twelve as far as the BCS Playoffs are concerned. The Houston Cougars of the Atlantic Ten Conference are still unbeaten after a home win against Memphis last Saturday Night. The AAC West division title will be determined when Navy travels to Houston on Friday, November 27th. The Big Ten Conference East Division Championship comes down to the next couple of weeks with last season’s National Champions Ohio State Buckeyes in control of their destiny. The Buckeyes get a one-loss Michigan State team in Columbus, Ohio on November 21st. Thanksgiving weekend the Buckeyes will be in Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines. The Buckeyes then face an undefeated Iowa team in the Big Ten Title game. The Buckeyes win out, and they will defend their title. Iowa must travel to Nebraska for their season finale, which could be tough.
