The South Carolina Wildcats have won four of their last five both straight up and against the point spread. The South Carolina basketball program is enjoying success for the first time since the Alex English and Mike Dunleavy era. Head Coach Frank Martin is the conductor of the program, and the athletic department must do everything to keep him in Columbia. Four Gamecocks players average in double figures scoring the basketball. Their most notable player is junior Sindarius Thornwell, who is second on the team in scoring. Thornwell leads the team in assists and must bring his A-game Saturday. Martin and his staff emphasize defense just as much as the Wildcats staff. The team that plays the best defense will come away with a victory.
