Free MLB Predictions are tops in the industry and will continue through the MLB World Series in October of 2017.
Each season, Major League Baseball always seems to have at least one or two teams come out of nowhere to surprise everyone.
Nobody expected the Cleveland Indians to make the playoffs last year, and they went all the way to the World Series.
The same thing can be said about the Kansas City Royals in 2014. Since we are not that far away from the start of spring training, it is time to make some predictions about the upcoming MLB season.
These are the three MLB sleeper teams that can shock the world during the 2017 season.
A few bad trades and free agent signings forced the Atlanta Braves to rebuild two years ago. A flurry of offseason moves will turn the Braves into a solid team this year despite not winning more than 68 games the last two seasons.
The additions of Matt Kemp and Sean Rodriguez gives the team a complete offense for the first time in three years. They will also have one of the deepest starting rotations in the league after acquiring Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey and Jaime Garcia.
They will have a hard time topping the Nationals and Mets, but the Atlanta Braves are going to win a lot more games than most people expect in 2017.
Los Angeles Angels
The Los Angeles Angels had a poor showing in 2016, but they are only one year removed from being contenders in the American League.
The Angels completely revamped their offense by adding Luis Valbuena, Danny Espinosa and Cameron Maybin in the off-season.
A healthy Garrett Richards will give them the ace starting pitcher they desperately needed last year.
Tyler Skaggs and Matt Shoemaker have also blossomed into two extremely reliable starters in the middle of the rotation. The sportsbooks in Vegas are only giving the Los Angeles Angels a 60/1 chance to win the American League pennant despite all of these improvements.
That is extremely disrespectful for a team with a proven history of winning. Having the best player in the league, Mike Trout, should also help the Angels return to their winning ways in 2017.
The Arizona Diamondbacks were the trendy to pick to make the World Series last season after adding Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller to the starting rotation.
Arizona went on to have a disastrous and disappointing season filled with injuries and underperforming superstars.
Miller and Greinke are simply too good to not bounce back this season, so Arizona should have three great starters after acquiring Taijuan Walker in a trade with the Seattle Mariners.
Getting full seasons from A.J. Pollock and David Peralta will also greatly improve the offense and defense from last year.
The only thing that can hold the Diamondbacks back is an unproven bullpen led by new closer Fernando Rodney.
Despite having a more talented roster than the one expected to succeed last year, the Diamondbacks still have 60/1 odds to win the National League. That may be one of the best value bets in Vegas right now.
