NFL Point Spread Picks are again the best in the industry and will continue through the Super Bowl Game in February of 2018.

This Sports Handicapper believes the Chuck Pagano era is near an end. The fifty-six-year-old leukemia survivor enters his sixth season on the sideline in the largest city in the “HOOSIER CITY.”

Chris Ballard takes over for Ryan Grigson as the General Manager of the team. Owner Jim Irsay will just about do anything to win, and the writing is on the wall for Pagano.

Indianapolis went 8-8 last season, finishing third in the AFC South. The Colts offense produced the most points of any team in the division but couldn’t stop anyone on the other side of the football.

Indianapolis won the AFC South in 2013 and 2014 but the postseason has eluded them the past two years. The Colts have a game changer at quarterback and a future hall of fame in the backfield.

Teams in the AFC South are average at best, and the Colts have all of the ingredients to dominate.

The Indianapolis Colts offense ranked near the top of the NFL in passing, and points scored.

Starting Signal Caller Andrew Luck (4,240) passing yards last season has the physical tools to become a hall of fame but must cut down on turnovers.

The franchise has yet to address the offensive line issues which have haunted them for the past four or five seasons.

Former Temple standout P.J. Walker could be the surprise of training camp under center. Veteran Running Back Frank Gore (1,025) rushing yards is still a “BEAST” and can run effectively between the tackles.

Keep an eye on rookie Marlon Mack, the former University of South Florida standout could be the steal of the 2017 draft class.

Former VCU basketball star Mo Alie-Cox is a project but possesses the tools to make an impact as a player in the NFL.

Anthony Castonzo, Jack Mewhort, and Ryan Kelly must become dependable on the offensive line. Wideout T.Y. Hilton is the favorite target of Luck in the passing attack.

The key to success for the Colts offense in 2017-18 is for the O-line to protect Luck and open holes for Gore with consistency.

The 2017 Indianapolis Colts defense must improve in every area. Ted Monachino enters his second season and has some new toys via the NFL draft.

Former Ohio State standout Malik Hooker and Florida’s Quincy Wilson were taken by the Colts to shore up the secondary. Hooker has plenty of range at safety and Wilson is a big lock down cornerback.

Veteran cornerback Vontae Davis is still the best they have in the secondary. Indianapolis gave up (262.5) through the air last season, twenty-seventh in the National Football League.

Johnathan Hankins comes over from the New York Giants to become a run stopper. Jabaal Sheard won a Super Bowl ring with New England last season and now will be counted on to provide a pass rush in Indianapolis.

The “X-FACTOR” could be former Margus Hunt an imposing six-foot-eight-inch defensive end who spent the first four seasons in Cincinnati.

Indianapolis must get off of the field on third downs and let the offense put points on the scoreboard.
