Brian Kelly enters his tenth season as the head coach in what could be called the premier job in College Football. The Fighting Irish are coming off of a 12-1 campaign which ended with a 30-3 loss to Clemson in the Playoff Semifinals. Senior Ian Book (2,628) passing yards returns under center after he took the job from Brandon Wimbush. Notre Dame averaged (37.2) ppg in the final nine games of the season with Book playing quarterback. Offensive coordinator Chip Long will also have four linemen returning with center Jarrett Patterson as the lone newcomer to a group. Dexter Williams (995) rushing yards last season is gone, but former receiver Jafar Armstrong looks like a natural at running back. The junior has a second gear which could turn into long touchdowns each time he touches the ball. Tight end Cole Kmet could follow in the footsteps of Tyler Eifert and Kyle Rudolph who were both first-round NFL draft picks. The primary weapon for Book will be Chase Claypool who must match the production of Myles Boykin who’s in the NFL. Notre Dame will run the spread offense predicated on a heavy inside run presence to take advantage of their experience up-front.

The Notre Dame defense reaped the benefits of Jerry Tillery and Drew Tranquill to return for their senior season in 2018. Both are no longer around, but coordinator Clark Lea has an impressive group of pass rushers. Senior end Daelin Hayes, Julian Okwara along with Khalid Kareem can take over football games with a pass rush. Last season they were a bend or break unit that gave up (18.2) ppg which ranked eighteenth in the FBS. Although opponents moved the football the Fighting Irish played stout inside the red zone. Lack of depth at tackle and linebacker will be the weakness of the unit which is why Kelly may want to do his best to extend drives on offense by running the ball. Safeties Jalen Elliott and Alohi Gilman are an outstanding duo while Troy Pride Jr is an efficient cornerback. However, they must replace the talented Julian Love. The Fighting Irish opens the 2019 campaign at Louisville on September 2nd. Besides, they’ll be tested at Georgia, Michigan, and Stanford. Home dates with USC, Virginia, Navy, and Boston College will play a huge role in their Playoff situation. Bovada.Lv list the Norte Dame Fighting Irish win total at eight and a half games for 2019.

2019 Ohio State Buckeyes NCAA Football Betting Preview.

Forty-Year old Ryan Day takes over Buckeye Nation.

NCAA Football Betting Analyst Charlie Red McDougall writes it.

Over 60,000 scarlet and gray-clad fans filled the HORSESHOE in Columbus for the spring game, letting Ryan Day know they were supporting him. However, make no mistake there’s’ not a lot of room for error. The Ohio State Buckeyes won have been absent from the BCS Playoff the past two season’s but 2019 it’s BCS berth or bust. Dwayne Haskins (4,831) passing yards last season has moved on to greener pastures after leading the offense to (535.7) ypg through the air which was 2nd in the FBS. Georgia transfer Justin Fields couldn’t beat out Jake Fromm so he’ll be under Center in Columbus, Ohio. Wideout K.J. Hill (885) receiving yards in 2018 returns along with Binjimen Victor, Austin Mack, and Chris Olave. All have big shoes to fill with the departure of Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon, and Terry McLaurin. Ohio State is stacked at tight end and running back J.K. Dobbins (1,063) rushing yards is one of the best at his position in College Football. Offensive line issues have plagued Ohio State the past few seasons and line coach must replace both starting tackles along with center Michael Jordan. Success for the Buckeyes offense depends on the offensive line and Fields who should thrive under Day, but it may take a few games into the season.

On the other side of the football is where Ohio State must improve if they want to compete with Clemson and Alabama. All eyes will be on former University of Michigan line coach Greg Mattison to develop a unit that allowed (404.0) total yards per game. The first-year coordinator will be without the services of Nick Bosa and Dre’Mont Jones but Tyreke Smith along with Chase Young who has 9′ sacks last season is more than adequate. Malik Harrison is their best linebacker with Brendon White who’s father William was a standout Buckeye could be moved from safety. In the secondary safety, Jordan fuller turned down the NFL to improve his stock and should be one of the best in the nation. Cornerbacks Jeffrey Okudah along Fort Lauderdale, Florida native Damon Arnette who came in with high school teammate Bosa add more experience in his senior season. Ohio State has a soft non-conference schedule with Florida Atlantic, Cincinnati, and Miami Ohio. However, they play at Nebraska which will be tough and Michigan in the finale. Penn State along with Michigan State of the East division will travel to Columbus which give the Buckeyes an edge for the conference title game.

Free College Football Betting Picks: Akron Zips at Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.

Written and authored by NCAA Football Expert Analyst Bobby Wallace. Charliessports.com produces it for Football Expert news and notes.

The (1-2) Akron Zips of the MAC-East Division will travel to “SPORTSMANS PARADISE” for a College Football matchup. Akron takes on the (1-1) Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns of the Sun Belt Conference in 2015 NCAA action. The game will be at Cajun Field on campus in Lafayette, Louisiana. Kickoff time is at 7:00 PM EST. The game is on Saturday, September 26th, 2015. The Best Sports Handicapper believes the Akron Zips are prepared to face the Ragin’ Cajuns. The MAC is showing they can compete with any mid-major school in the country. Louisiana-Lafayette lost a tough one against SEC foe Kentucky in the 2015 season opener. The opening betting line has Akron as an eight-point Road Underdog Against The Point Spread. The betting odds total is 52′-points for Saturday’s game.

The 2015 Akron Zips posted their first win of the season against Savannah State. Akron lost in week one at Oklahoma and at home is the second weekend at home to Pittsburgh. The Zips are looking to get revenge on a 2013 loss to Louisiana-Lafayette. Akron starting quarterback Kyle Pohl is set to return after a concussion last Saturday. If Pohl can’t go Tra’Von Chapman and Thomas Woodson will rotate being under center. Head Coach Terry Bowden is seeking consistency at Akron. The Zips started out last season with a bang but struggled down the stretch. A road win at Louisiana-Lafayette would give the Zips momentum going into Conference play. Running Back Cody Grice scored three touchdowns in last Saturday’s win and must continue to grind out yards. Both coaching staffs will be wearing Coach to Cure MD patches on their attire. The Zips defense is the strength of the team. Defensively Akron ranks 21st in the nation allowing opponents (100.3) yard per game running the football. The Zips are 11th nationally in receiving yards per catch (15.6). The key to an Akron win is to create points with their versatile quarterback and play their usual tough defense.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and head coach Mark Hudspeth are coming off of a bye week. Louisiana-Lafayette lost their opener at Kentucky in overtime and beat Northwestern State in week two. Junior running back Elijah McGuire is considered one of the best in the Sun Belt. Senior wideout Jamal Robinson is also a preseason All-Conference performer. The Ragin’ Cajuns have the offense to frustrate a good Akron defense. Hudspeth knows his team must be ready for Bowden’s defensive sets. Junior signal caller Brooks Haack take over for two-time All Sun Belt performer Terrance Broadway. The coaching staff is practicing patience with Haack. Louisiana is coming off of four consecutive 9-4 seasons and a win Saturday will be a great boost as they also head into conference play. The key to a Louisiana Lafayette win is to establish the running game with McGuire. Haack is not as efficient as Broadway was, but he has the ability to make simple throw with consistency.

Akron is 5-0 Against The Point Spread their last five vs. Sun Belt opponents.

Louisiana Lafayette are 5-0-1 Against The Spread their last six following an ATS victory.
